The most prominent style in the English colonies throughout the 18th century, Georgian colonial-style homes can be distinguished by their symmetrical composition and their formal, classical details. Typically, this type of home is a two-story residence made of brick or stone. These homes also have a side-gabled roof and a symmetrical arrangement of windows and doors on the front facade.
We wanted to look at some of the firms that have experience across the U.S. in the Georgian Colonial style. Most of these firms have been in the construction industry for quite a few years. All of these firms are known for quality craftsmanship and have built homes for numerous clients. Some of these firms are also affiliated with industry organizations like the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and have been featured in publications like At Home, Luxe, US Builders Review, and SRQ Magazine.
If you are thinking about building a Georgian colonial home, we recommend checking each builder’s license with the local licensing board, speaking to past clients, and using our bidding system to get competitive quotes from at least 3 contractors. Getting multiple bids is the best way to ensure you get a fair price and that bids include the complete scope of work.
