The Best Spanish Home Builders in the US

9 Min Read

Last updated on July 4th, 2024 at 03:06 pm

First constructed from the 1660s through the mid 1800s, Spanish-style homes are now common throughout the southwest U.S. These homes are most distinguishable by thick walls, white stucco, and adobe brickwork—features that protect the homes’ interiors from heat. Spanish homes also often feature iron-wrought gates, which both provide security and allow cool air to flow throughout the house. Small windows and elaborate arches serve as the homes’ ornamentation.

This list features the firms that have the skills and experience necessary to craft Spanish-style homes on time, on budget, and with the professionalism expected of firms that value their clients’ wishes. In addition to their experience and outstanding work ethic, most of these firms are associated with industry organizations like the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), American Institute of Building Design (AIBD), the Master Custom Builder Council, and the Institute of Classic Architecture and Art (ICAA).

If you are thinking about building a Spanish home, we recommend checking each builder’s license with the local licensing board, speaking to past clients, and using our bidding system to get competitive quotes from at least 3 contractors. Getting multiple bids is the best way to ensure you get a fair price and that bids include the complete scope of work.
